I personally love tangibles, and lucky for me ,my parents had an extra Margaret river map, where i can highlight the places we plan to visit and jot down some notes. You can save yours in your smartphone or You can also get free maps easily in Australia from the airport, swan valley information center and most tourist attraction like the caves in Margaret river has a map free for all too, so don't worry about that. If maps are not your thing, get the app called "Find the fun" if you plan to visit Margaret river. and get your data from the airport. we got 12G for AUD12, it was a promotion only in the airport and it's for first timers only.
This is just a guideline of my research. If this is too much for you to choose from you can visit my other blog 5 worth places to go in West Australia
